ASHER DAVID EDELSON finished writing 440 pages of Adventure Land months before his thirteenth birthday.  It was decided that this would be too large for a first novel, and so it was split into book one and book two. Book one, The Strike of Lightning, therefore represents his debut novel. And for those fans who want to know, book two is already written. Asher has begun book three and his imagination is devising enough stories for a whole series of Adventure Land books.Asher suffers from Tourette Syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes tics, which are uncontrollable movements and vocalizations. These tics can be disruptive, annoying, and sometimes even painful. As a result, he had to be home schooled since sixth grade. He seems to develop tics for whatever activity he engages in. For example, while writing Adventure Land, he developed a typing tic, where he would have to hit the space bar and back space key repeatedly after every ten words he typed. Imagine writing a 440 page book. Now imagine writing it after having a tic like that. He had other tics as well, but was determined to write this story that has been brewing in his mind since he was the age of nine. He began writing Adventure Land when he was ten. He lives in Florida with his parents, Steve and Elizabeth Edelson, his sister, Lillian, three cats, Tommy, Henry, and Stella, and his iguana, Marilyn.
